This page outlines our Member Agreement intent and process.
At this time, the GCMLA remains an informal network. There is no formal registration nor are there fees. The intent of our Membership Agreement process is simply to encourage discussion on the two-way value proposition. There are many benefits to participation of local non-profits (both Members and Friends) and the Alliance gets more effective as Members participate.
We want to emphasize that the template/form is important in that it guides the understanding of various Alliance “offerings” including workshops, available tools and resources and 1:1 coaching time. It’s also a demonstation of commitment to participate.
Why?
- Annual opportunity to reinforce the two-way value proposition.
- Formalize expectations to help “institutionalize” the Alliance.
- Influence desired objectives, e.g., Mentor for Purpose.
Process.
There are 2 ways to complete the Membership Agreement Process. We want to engage the Executive Director or President (or their designate) once each year (aiming for Jan-Mar but timing is flexible).
- Facilitated. Schedule time with Tony Aloise to talk through and document the agreements. This is the preferred approach because there will be discussion about each section. Tony will do all of the writing. This takes 20-30 minutes but you will likely discover a new opportunity.
- Self-Service. Use the Mail Chimp tool to walk through the template. Each section is fully explained with space to capture your response. Click here to get started. This takes about 10 minutes.
